ASTEROID launched on the XRP Ledger on 21 April 2026. On 23 June 2026 a community takeover took effect and the project became independent and community-led, developed under Ludovic XRPL's approval authority.

What that means

It means direction, brand and product decisions are made by the community-led project rather than by an original deployer. It means the website, the identity system and the transparency hub are maintained as public infrastructure for holders and observers.

What it does not mean

It does not mean a partnership, endorsement or affiliation with Ripple, the XRPL Foundation, SpaceX, Polaris Dawn, or any ASTEROID project on another network. The same ticker exists elsewhere; ASTEROID XRPL is identified by its issuer and currency hex together, never by ticker alone.

Proof before promises

Organizational history like the takeover date is owner-confirmed. Ledger facts like supply, escrows and issuer security are read live from the XRP Ledger and shown with a UTC timestamp, a validated ledger index and an explorer link. We keep those two categories visually separate on purpose.
